Our expert providers specialize in procedures related to the ears, nose, throat and sinuses and are dedicated to helping you find relief. We\u2019ll partner with you to ensure you feel confident every step of the way, from initial consultation to recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Patients are encouraged to take all essential medications the morning of surgery with a small sip of water. However, certain medications should be held or discontinued 5-7 days prior to surgery.\u00a0Please contact the surgery center if you are currently taking any blood thinners, diet pills\/injections and\/or diabetic medications as these medications may require additional instruction.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n The anesthesiologist will determine how you will go to sleep either by breathing through a mask or getting medicine through an IV.\u00a0The anesthesiologist will review the type of anesthesia to be used with you on the morning of surgery.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n No. It is against our policy to have anyone besides trained staff and the patient go in the sterile environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Please limit the number of people with you to two.\u00a0Children other than the patient should not be brought to the surgery center.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Immediately after surgery we provide liquids.\u00a0Most\u00a0patients can eat as soon as they leave the center.\u00a0We recommend starting off with bland food and then advancing as tolerated. For tonsillectomies, we recommend soft diet for two weeks.\u00a0Additional instructions regarding diet will be provided on the day of surgery.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n They may wait in their car if they prefer, but typically we want patients\u2019 rides to remain at surgery center. If surgery is scheduled for more than three hours, they may leave and come back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n No. Patients are required to be discharged in the care of a responsible adult that will be available to care for them after surgery.
